The Avenue - Manchester
07:16
A few weeks ago Lex and I went to Manchester for a bit of shopping and some lunch. We just wanted a quick visit so decided not to go to the city centre but instead go to The Avenue. It is a really lovely place to shop but is quite pricey! The shops on The Avenue are quite high end, there is Mulberry, Armani, Flannels, Kurt Geiger, Ted Baker etc. But it is a nice place to look around and have lunch even if you are not wanting to make a purchase. As well as shops there are numerous bars and restaurants which all look amazing so it was difficult choosing one but decided to got to The Alchemist Which was lovely.
I wore MAC ' Rebel' lipstick to brighten up a dark outfit and it has great staying power, so perfect if you are out shopping and don't want to be touching your lipstick up all day.
We parked up and had a little look at some flats as we really want to move to Manchester (once we get Manchester based jobs!)
Then we want shopping...
Right in the heart of the city at the end of the avenue is this quirky little barn house that looks completely out of place. It is The Oast House bar and restaurant which I think would be lovely to visit at christmas time. It has a great atmosphere and a huge exclusive range of wines, beers and champagne! (what more you could you ask for :P) The food is locally sourced, has an amazing deli counter and offers hot smoked barbecue food too. This for me is perfect for a winter evening. I think the atmosphere would be really festive and cosy. So I will definitely be heading back in December
We then got a red velvet cupcake from Hey little cupcake
After looking around the shops we went for lunch at The Alchemist which is known for its great food and innovative cocktails. However as it was only lunch time we sadly skipped the cocktails :(
